Mera Peak And Island Peak

Mera Peak And Island Peak

Mera Peak And Island Peak are the most popular of Nepal’s 18 “Trekking Peaks”.
Trekking through Sherpa country in the remote Hinkhu Valley from Lukla offers an unforgettable experience with superb scenery and abundant wildlife. About 700 foreign visitors annually climb the 6654m Mera Peak, a conquest demanding mountaineering skills and a special permit from the Nepal Mountaineering Association.

Mera Peak, previously underrated, at 6654 meters and east of Khumbu trails, is non-technical, ideal for moderately fit individuals seeking Himalayan summits.

On the summit, witness an incredible panorama, including Mt. Everest, Makalu, and hundreds of breathtaking mountains.

After conquering Mera Peak, the trek proceeds to the Adventures High Pass via Amphu Labtsa or Ama Labtsa (5,700m). Fixing ropes is essential. After crossing, reach Chhukung (the foot of Island Peak). It’s a challenging and lengthy day on this journey.

Spring and autumn, characterized by stable weather, are the optimal seasons for climbing Mera Peak and Island Peak. These majestic peaks offer stunning Himalayan vistas and a rewarding adventure for those equipped with the right skills and preparation. The treks to their bases provide enriching cultural and natural experiences in the Everest region of Nepal.
