One of the most thrilling adventure activities you can do in Nepal is the Bungy Jump at the Last Resort. It is in Listikot, Sindhupalchok District which is around 100 KM east of Kathmandu. The bungee spot is located in between two high-cliff gorges. For adventure seekers, nothing beats the rush of jumping out of thin air. Near the Tibetan border, The Last Resort sits above a gorge. With a 4x safety factor and a loading factor of 41,500 kg, or 4.5 tons, based on Swiss measures, the safety is taken in high priority.
With more than 20-year history, it is home to one of the tallest and most stunning places in Asia as well as Nepal’s first bungy jump location. This will become an experience of a lifetime. The suspension bridge at the spot is 600m long which joins the two excellent valleys. In conclusion, it may not require physical preparing for the hop, but mental planning is required for a bungee bounce.
Pick up from the hotel and head towards the destination which might take around 4 hours of drive. The destination is situated at a distance of 100 kilometers away. So it is advised to have breakfast before going to the destination. There will also be short few minutes break throughout the journey.
After arrival in your destination, The Last Resort, you can have a lunch. To make a proper digestion of food you need around 3 hours. So after having lunch you can take a few rest, sightsee and other stuffs.
Then in around 1 PM in the afternoon you will be heading for the bungee jump. You may be waiting in the queue for the jump so it may take few more time than expected. After bungee you can do some of the extra adventure activities provided by The Last Resort if you like. These extra activities will be on your own cost.
At around 3:00 PM, you will be leaving the resort and heading for your hotel in Kathmandu which takes around 4 hours. By reaching your hotel you will conclude your bungee jump package.
The ideal time for bungee jumping is during the dry season, which typically runs from October to April. During this period, the weather is generally clear, and the chances of rainfall are lower. The months of October, November (fall) and March, April (spring) are particularly popular as the temperatures are moderate, and the skies are clear. It’s important to avoid the monsoon season, which occurs from June to September, as the weather can be unpredictable, and heavy rainfall may affect the safety and enjoyment of the bungee jumping experience.
Spring is characterized by relatively stable weather conditions with clear skies and excellent visibility. The chances of precipitation are lower compared to other seasons, reducing the risk of rain or snow. Fall is portrayed by dry and stable atmospheric conditions. The skies are by and large clear, giving astounding perceivability and all-encompassing perspectives on the mountains.
There are no specific permits required for bungee jump. The permit required by foreigners is a Visa permit which can be obtained from the Tribhuvan International Airport upon arrival.
The local fish from the fresh river waters is a unique option that can be found in Bhote Koshi river. Besides that, you could find local cuisines and international cuisines.
For the jump your weight should be minimum 40 kg and maximum be 100 kg.
For the bungee jump you need to wear a comfortable, fit(non-loose) shoes and clothes.
To make a jump you should be 18+. For below 18 you must be accompanied by your parents and they should sign on your liability form.
