Detail Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Kathmandu.

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, exploring the vibrant city on your own.

Day 2 -Drive from Kathmandu to Sole Bazaar (650m).

After breakfast, we will drive from Kathmandu to Sole Bazaar, which takes about 8-9 hours. We will pass through Trishuli Bazaar and Betrawati before arriving at our destination. Overnight stay in a teahouse.

Day 3 -Trek from Sole Bazaar to Kispang (1,600m).

Today, we start our trek from Sole Bazaar and ascend through dense forests of oak, maple, and rhododendron to reach Kispang. It takes about 6-7 hours to reach Kispang. Overnight stay in a teahouse.

Day 4 -Trek from Kispang to Thulo Chaur (2,100m).

We will continue our trek along the trail that leads us through lush forests of rhododendron and bamboo. After about 6-7 hours of trekking, we will reach Thulo Chaur, where we will spend the night in a teahouse.

Day 5 -Trek from Thulo Chaur to Gonga (2,500m).

We will start the day with a steep climb through the forest, which leads us to a ridge from where we can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. We will then descend to the Tamang village of Gonga, where we will spend the night in a teahouse.

Day 6 -Trek from Gonga to Rupchet Kharka (3,200m).

Today, we will continue our ascent through dense forests and pass by several small streams and waterfalls. After about 6-7 hours of trekking, we will reach Rupchet Kharka, where we will spend the night in a teahouse.

Day 7 -Trek from Rupchet Kharka to Kharka (3,600m).

We will continue our ascent through the forest, which becomes thinner as we climb higher. We will cross several ridges and pass by yak pastures before reaching Kharka, where we will spend the night in a teahouse.

Day 8 -Trek from Kharka to Ganesh Himal Base Camp (4,200m).

Today, we will reach the base camp of Ganesh Himal, which offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. It takes about 6-7 hours of trekking to reach the base camp. Overnight stay in a tented camp.

Day 9 -Trek from Ganesh Himal Base Camp to Rupchet Kharka (3,200m).

After breakfast, we will retrace our steps back to Rupchet Kharka, where we will spend the night in a teahouse.

Day 10 -Trek from Rupchet Kharka to Khanchok (1,300m).

Today, we will descend back to the Tamang village of Khanchok, passing by several small settlements and terraced fields. It takes about 6-7 hours of trekking to reach Khanchok. Overnight stay in a teahouse.

Day 11 -Drive from Khanchok to Kathmandu.

Today, we will drive back to Kathmandu, which takes about 8-9 hours. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, exploring the city on your own or doing some last-minute shopping for souvenirs.

Day 12- Departure.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight. This concludes the Ganesh Himal Trek.

BEST SEASON/ TIME

March to May is one of the best times to trek in the Ganesh Himal region. Spring falls during this time and the weather is mild with temperatures being pleasant. The skies are generally clear, offering excellent views of the surrounding mountains. September to November (Autumn) is another favorable time for the Ganesh Himal Trek. The weather is stable, and the skies are clear, providing stunning views of the Himalayan peaks. The temperatures are moderate, making it comfortable for trekking.

WEATHER

During Spring the days are longer, providing more daylight hours for trekking. Summer brings the monsoon season to the Ganesh Himal region. Expect heavy rainfall, especially in July and August and the trails can be muddy and slippery. Autumn is another excellent trekking season in the Ganesh Himal region. The weather is stable, and the skies are generally clear. Days are still warm, but nights can be cooler, especially at higher elevations. The trails are dry and more stable, offering excellent visibility of the surrounding mountains. Winter is the coldest season, and high-altitude areas can experience freezing temperatures. Snowfall is common at higher elevations, and some high passes may be challenging or closed.

PERMIT
  1. International tourists must obtain a tourist visa to enter which can be obtained on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. The visa is generally valid for 15, 30, or 90 days, and extensions are possible.
  2. TIMS (Trekkers’ Information Management System) is a standard requirement for most trekking routes in Nepal which needs to be filled. It helps in maintaining a record of trekkers and provides emergency assistance if needed.
  3. VDC Permit are also required.
AVAILABLE FOOD/MEALS

All city area hotels offer Continental, Chinese, Mexican and American cuisine. Depending on where you are, you can find local cuisine. Hotels during treks provide a good quality of foods.
