The highlight of the trek is Shey Phoksundo Lake, a serene and pristine lake located at an altitude of 3,600 meters, surrounded by majestic mountains and forests. Take a morning flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, a bustling city located in the western Terai region of Nepal. You’ll spend the night in Nepalgunj and prepare for the next day’s flight to Juphal.
After an early morning flight to Juphal, you’ll start the trek towards Dunai, the administrative headquarters of Dolpo district. The trek takes you through beautiful terraced fields, crossing several streams and suspension bridges along the way. It takes around 3-4 hours to reach Dunai, where you’ll spend the night in a teahouse.
The trek to Ankhe takes you through lush forests of oak, rhododendron, and pine. You’ll cross the Thulo Bheri River and ascend through a beautiful gorge to reach Ankhe, a small village located on the bank of the river. The trek takes around 5-6 hours, and you’ll spend the night in a teahouse.

Spend the rest of the day exploring the vibrant city on your own or doing some last-minute shopping for souvenirs. In the evening, you’ll attend a farewell dinner hosted by the trekking company, where you can share your experiences with fellow trekkers and staff.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight. This concludes the Shey Phoksundo Lake Trek.
