Overview
Kailash Manasarovar Yatra (KMY) is an Adventurous and Spiritual Journey to the sacred residence of Lord Shiva, popularly known as Mahadev. This spiritual yatra covers the ritual pooja at the bank of Lake Manasarovar and the circumambulation of Mount Kailash on foot. Usually, KMY operates from April to October. The yatra starts from Kathmandu via Scenic drive to Sybrubesi, or scenic flight to Lhasa, or flight to Nepalgunj. We recommend via Lhasa route, which takes you to the roof of the world with more old sites of Lhasa like Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Sera monastery, and other sites. The route goes straight to the North Everest Base Camp before driving to Mount Kailash. The itinerary crafted through Lhasa to Mount Kailash involves ancient spirituality with breathtaking landscapes, inviting seekers to embrace both inner reflection and the raw beauty of Tibet’s high-altitude terrain.
The Kailash Manasarovar is a powerful spiritual possibility for the devotees of Lord Shiva. The devotees complete a 52km walk around Mount Kailash in three days, believing that it cleanses karma and paves the path towards Mokshya (Salvation). The Yatra starts from a complete circumambulation of Lake Manasarovar by community bus, bath with holy Manasarovar crystalline water, water for late ancestors, ritual pooja at the bank of Lake Manasarovar, then walk around 52km Mount Kailash by foot from Yamadwar. Yamadwar is supposed to be “The gateway of the God of Death”. Each step through rugged trails and prayer-flag-adorned passes deepens the connection to the divine, making the KMY a journey unlike any other.
